| The ABC’s of Money Management Program began at A.G. Edwards and Sons, Inc. in the summer of 2001 with the simple idea of bringing the fundamentals of financial literacy and money management to underserved high school students in the St. Louis area. The program, whose “ABC’s” acronym stands for the basic processes involved with successful personal finance, (Assessment/Goal Setting, Budgeting, Banking, Cash Flow, Credit, and Compounding) combines classroom instruction with hands-on practical exercises for concept reinforcement. The St. Louis Financial Services Coalition has adopted The ABC’s of Money Management Program as its community financial literacy initiative. To that end, STLFSC has partnered with the St. Louis Public School District to bring the ABC’s program to seven (7) high schools a five-week period beginning February 1, 2010 and ending the week of March 4, 2010. |
