“The Julia Richer Scholarship for Higher Education”
Educational advancement is one of the core purposes of Urban Financial Services Coalition - St. Louis Chapter (UFSC-STL). We champion this effort by administering financial literacy programs at secondary and post-secondary schools. We also provide programs for career professionals and the general public. This valiant initiative is achieved by partnering with financial services firms and financial professionals.
As an organization we recognize that the current state of the economy as well as other educational factors pose a significant challenge for young people of color to obtain a higher education degree. UFSC-STL is committed to breaking down financial barriers and helping high school graduates within the St. Louis Metropolitan area become college graduates.
We honor this commitment with the “The Julia Richer Scholarship for Higher Education.” Ms. Richer created and designed the “The ABC’s of Money Management” curriculum to improve financial literacy and money management skills of high school students. To recognize Julia’s hard work and dedication, the Executive Board of Directors of Urban Financial Services Coalition - St. Louis Chapter established a scholarship in her honor. See Application
